Favorite Quote: “I saw you. I wanted you. So I took you.”

Having read the first book in the Monsters and Beauties Series (i.e. The Beast), I came into this one with very high hopes. I’m happy to say this did not disappoint. I expected Wolf to be even more feral (compared to Beast), and he was, through and through.

This was my first Little Red Riding Hood retelling story, and it is so much better when Wolf doesn’t eat Red. True to the classic, Wolf lives up to his name and reputation in his truest, primal form – gnarly and ghastly, feline and feral – he really lives up to his name! He knows he’s a monster, and he owns it 100%. Plus, he knows what he wants, and he goes for it.

Marcella (a.k.a Little Red Riding Hood) is a force to be reckoned with. As always, Ms. Snow does a fantastic job delivering on a heroine who isn’t shy or submissive. Even though she hadn’t had an easy life, I loved the fact that Marcella’s self-confidence shone through. Losing her grandmother was hard on her, but that didn’t stop her from doing everything she could to honor her memory. My main takeaway from this was that this was a journey of self-exploration and self-discovery (plus copious amounts of smut, of course!) She was a sassy one and balanced Wolf’s feral nature perfectly.

The Hunter delivers on the feels, the kinks, the steam, and all the spice! My only complaint is that I had to wait until 60% of the book to get any action! But what happens before then does not disappoint.

Ms. Snow has a list of CW/TW on her site; check those before diving into this book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the second book in the Monsters and Beauties series. Read my review for Book 1: The Beast here.
