Book Review: Apt 4B (Naughty Neighbors, Book 3) by Olivia Monroe

Mya and Alex

This was a steamy novella. I loved the storyline – give me a tortured artist, and I’m instantly sold! This one was by far my favorite book in the Naughty Neighbors series. I particularly loved Alex as the hero. He just might be my favorite Olivia Monroe hero yet. His backstory made me feel for him. Despite what his ex-wife and ex-manager had done to him, I still loved the fact that he wasn’t afraid to take a chance on love and on Mya. While I’m personally not a fan of the sleeping with the client to keep him happy storyline because of the power imbalance there. This was balanced out by the fact that they were already neighbors and had their meet-cute moment outside of work (or meet-hate moment, more like, but it still counts).

Their relationship progressed organically, which made the inevitable break-up that much harder. As a reader, I could feel their heartache bleed off the pages.

Their reunion seemed rushed, and I don’t think the pregnancy reveal in the end was needed. Throwing that in there gives the impression that they now have to be together instead of letting it happen organically like it did in the beginning.

Given Alex’s background, I could see why ending it with the found-family trope was a fitting end to their love story.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the third book in the Naughty Neighbors series. Read my reviews for Book 1: 2 Doors Down and Book 2: Apr 2E.
